eXplore Studio Commissions

The Kaiyo Mission is a sci-fi photography video game, almost single-handedly coded by my good friend Gwen Kossmann, that has been in development since 2020. At first, it was just meant to be a promotional video to promote the titular book series, but as time went on the project grew and grew in scope until it became a full fledged game.

After designing the studio’s logo, I was brought on by the director to design a vertical banner to promote the game at a convention in 2021. About half a year later, I was brought on again to design a second poster for advertising the game on Steam. While working on that second poster, I was also asked to design icons for each of the major developers of Kaiyo for the credits of the game.

I had seen the project grow from beginning to its end, and I had even been a play tester for its entire development, so it became something near and dear to me as well. As Kaiyo got closer to completion, I suggested something to help optimize the game; when looking at your photo compendium within the game, it can be difficult to tell what item/creature the camera is focusing on specifically, so I pitched adding stickers of each item/creature to the bottom of the picture so the player knows what the camera was focusing on when the picture was taken.

So, I drew all the stickers as well.
